Arlington, TX (October 30, 2010) - It's now time to switch things up and head to the LoneStar State, Texas. With things ending up more than could be expected after the first two games for the Giants, the Rangers feel that it's their turn to start scoring and winning. In the first two games the San Francisco Giants scored a total of 20, while the Texas Rangers only managed 7 runs.
Facing off against each other for the night would be Jonathan Sanchez for the Giants and Colby Lewis for the Rangers. Colby Lewis would shut down the offensive explosion from the past two nights for the Giants. Lewis threw a shut out until the top of the seventh when Cody Ross would add to his post season home runs with a solo shot to left center field with one out. However at this point in the game, the Rangers were already holding on to a 3-0 lead prior to the home run. As Mitch Moreland homered in the bottom of the second inning with two runners on base.
During the bottom of the fifth inning Josh Hamilton would add the insurance run with his own solo home run to right center field. The Giants would add one more solo home run of their in their half of the eighth inning from the bat of Andres Torres. But this would not be enough for the Giants on this night. This nigh, being the first ever World Series game played in Arlington, would be on the side of the home team, the Texas Rangers. The Rangers win the game 4-2 and cut the Giants lead in the series 2-1.
Up next: game 4 of the 2010 World Series Sunday night. On the mound for the Giants will be Madison Bumgarner and for the Texas Rangers Tommy Huinter. The game starts at 5:00pm PT on FOX and in high definition where available.
