San Jose (January 4, 2011) – The San Jose SaberCats and Comcast SportsNet today announced Comcast SportsNet will be the home for SaberCats arena football during the 2011 season. Under this agreement Comcast SportsNet is scheduled to broadcast all nine regular season road games and the home opener against the defending ArenaBowl Champion Spokane Shock on March 11. All games will be available in high definition and a complete programming schedule will be announced at a later date.

“Comcast SportsNet is the home for all Bay Area sports and we are excited about them broadcasting our games this upcoming season,” said Owner/Head Coach Darren Arbet. “As we return in 2011, we are looking forward to our fans being able to watch us throughout the season as we make a run at ArenaBowl XXIV.”

The new partnership also includes a wide range of weekly SaberCats programming including individual player and SaberKitten features along with playoff related programming.

“We are thrilled with the San Jose SaberCats’ return to the Arena Football League and with our new partnership,” said Ted Griggs, Vice President and General Manager, Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. “Comcast SportsNet is committed to presenting viewers with the most comprehensive and entertaining SaberCats coverage.”
