NFL Supports 49ers Stadium & Super Bowl Plans

According to 49ers.com, the NFL Super Bowl Advisory Committee has announced its support for the new stadium in Santa Clara and the plans of hosting a Super Bowl in the future.  For a Super Bowl to be played in a specific city/region, many factors must come into consideration.  A key factor is the quality of the venue in which the Super Bowl is to be played.  The 49ers plan on a state-of-the-art and eco-friendly stadium in the entertainment district of Santa Clara, which would be a great venue if built.

The Super Bowl Advisory Committee has a voting process by team owners that decides the awarding of the Super Bowl.  The last Super Bowl to be played in the state of California was in San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium back in 2003 for Super Bowl XXXVII.  If the Super Bowl were to be awarded to the 49ers, the city of Santa Clara and the surrounding cities could benefit a $300 - $500 million economic impact.  But first, the 49ers need to get the building the stadium voted for and done.

The ultimate decision of the 49ers new stadium does not lye with the 49ers, nor the NFL; but with the citizens of Santa Clara.  As they will head to the voting polls on Tuesday, June 8th to make their deision on the stadium measure, Measure J.  With this all said, we must wait to see what happens.  Once the votes have been counted for this very important measure, we will have it here.
