Patrick Willis Re-Signs Through 2016

By Eric Thurow posted on Thursday, May 6, 2010 @ 5:26 PM - (General)
San Francisco 49ers have come to a contract extension agreement to secure the future of one of their star linebackers, #52 - Patrick Willis.  The terms of the contract were released as a  5 year extension with $10 million per year and a guarantee of $29 million.  So one of the most exciting players in the NFL is locked through 2016.

Since being selected the 11th overall draft pick in 2007, Willis has led the NFL with 467 tackles.  He has also started in 48 straight games since being drafted and played in three consecutive pro-bowl games.  Willis, 25, has also recorded nine sacks, six forced fumbles, and four interceptions during his brief tenure with the 49ers.
